How to Score
UPredictUm uses four simple methods to calculate the Total Points. These are named LAW, POOL, RULE4 and PRED
LAW: 3 points for an correct score predicted and 1 point for a correct result predicted. That is it! No frills! No Jokers!
POOL: Another simple method, 3 points for a correct draw predicted, 2 points for a correct away win predicted and 1 point for a correct home win predicted.
RULE4: This method considers high scoring games. Hence points are awarded for predictions and results where the total number of goals falls within a certain range. The ranges are
- 0-3 1 point
- 4-5 2 extra points
- 6-7 3 extra points
- 8+ 4 extra points
The rule only comes into effect if the predcted result or score is correct.
PRED: Simple method where a point is awarded for predicting correct goals scored irrespective of the result. Therefore, a predicted 1-0 home win will score 1 point for an actual result 1-2. Why? Because the home team's predicted goals scored and actual home team's goals scored are correct.
TOTAL: This is the total of all the four simple methods above.
We use these scoring methods to provide a way to judge your predicting skills. The UPredictUm scoring method recognises and rewards certain aspects of predicting football matches.
As an example, Player A reckons that Arsenal will beat Spurs and that it will be a high scoring game, he/she predicts 3-1, Whereas Player B reckons Arsenal will beat Spurs and predicts 2-1.
The score is 4-2 to Arsenal.
Both players had the predicted the score incorrectly, although both predicted a correct result. Player A who correctly thought it would be a high scoring game is rewarded with extra points.
Draws are usually harder to predict than home win, so if you predict a draw correctly you will be rewarded accordingly.
Don't forget if you're ever stuck with your prediction, UPredictUm provides a FREE calculated rated form suggestion.
Good Luck with your Predictions.
